Mission & Vision

From Organized Power
Jump to: navigation, search

Organized Power's overall mission is to raise overall consciousness on how human activity is fundamentally damaging the climate we all depend on for our very lives. Our goal is to build a movement strong enough to make the changes required to change the nature of human behavior on our planet in order that we live in harmony with our natural surroundings. The necessity for making this transition is more profound than any challenge that has ever faced our species. Our failure to successfully cross this chasm may result in the premature extinction of our species, as well as so many others.

The Big Idea: Climate Change

The unfolding consequences brought about by climate change demands fundamental changes from all of us, particularly those of us living in the "industrialized" nations.[1] So far, we're nowhere near making the required changes we need to make to even survive--much less thrive--in the world that is changing in ways that humans have never experienced.

Democracy Deficit

Wealthy people despise any kind of genuine democracy. This has largely remained true since the dawn of recorded history. Similarly, large business interests also detest democracy. As a recent study shows, their hatred of democracy is demonstrated by the iron grip they maintain on control of virtually all policy choices in a given society.[2]
